The Florida Gulf Coast ABC Apprenticeship Programs are registered and are certified by the Veterans Administration, Florida Department of Education, Division of Workforce Development and Bureau of Apprenticeships. They are designed to take the individual from entry level to Journeyman level of a particular trade.
ABC utilizes the Contren Learning Series, which are standardized craft training curriculums developed by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). Participants are placed in our NCCER registry upon successful completion of academic testing and task practical application. Upon successful completion of the four year apprenticeship program the apprentice will receive a certificate of completion from ABC, NCCER and the Florida Department of Education.
At the present, the chapter is training in six construction trades. Classes in Hillsborough County are conducted at Hillsborough County Community College. Upon completion the student will receive up to thirty-two (32) hours of credit towards an AAS degree in Industrial Management.
