The Many Ways ABC Serves You


Marketing

ABC will actively market your company to construction users at both the chapter and national level. The national office near Washington D.C. maintains computerized profiles of member companies and provides them to construction users for specific projects.
Labor Relations
ABC National and your chapter will provide labor relations information and assistance specially tailored for your firm.
Education
You and your employees will have access to a comprehensive, highly-acclaimed craft training apprenticeship programs. Approved by the Florida Department of Education, Division of Workforce Development, ABC's uses the Contren Learning Series, which covers 30 separate crafts that can be used in a "earn while you learn" task-oriented program. Throughout the year ABC offers courses and seminars for management and safety programs as well as field supervision and project management courses. Most seminars are certified for CE credits with both the Florida CILB and ECLB. In addition, you can tap into one of the most extensive libraries of construction management and safety training available anywhere.
Information
You'll receive chapter and national publications, newsletters, special bulletins and directories that will keep you informed on matters of critical importance to the open shop industry. You'll meet and work with other members, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and associates, during monthly meetings and annual conventions.
Legislation and Regulation
Your voice will be heard in city and state governments and in Washington D.C.. ABC serves as spokesman for your company and for you. Full time lobbyists represent construction issues and interests at the local, state and federal level. Legislative committees and PAC committees monitor regulation and legislation that effects the construction industry.
Networking Events
ABC members like doing business with ABC members, locally and nationally. Many opportunities exist for members to market their products and services. These range from ads in publications to event sponsorships. ABC holds many membership networking events each year, including member appreciation receptions, monthly dinner meetings, general contractors' tabletop events,golf tournaments and construction award programs.

Magazines
Plans & Specs is a chapter monthly management publication distributed to more than 1000 companies in the Gulf Coast marketplace. Four-color and two-color advertising is accepted and rates are reasonable. Editorial coverage is geared for quick reading and features industry news, legislative updates, feature stories on major construction projects and a calendar of upcoming events.


Construction Executive ABC National magazine reaches more than 44,000 top management leaders in construction firms across the United States.

Membership Directory
The ABC Membership Directory is published annually at mid-year and is delivered to 2000 construction users in the Gulf Coast area. Features include an alphabetical listing of all members with names, addresses, email addresses, telephone, fax numbers and volume figures. Every member is also cross-referenced by category. Other features include a complete listing of city, county and municipality offices in the area with relevant telephone, fax numbers and key personnel. Because of the reference material in this publication, it enjoys year-long shelf life and offers an exceptional advertising return. This is the most requested publication throughout the year and is often used by out-of-town construction buyers to help them contact contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in the Gulf Coast area.
Special Events
The Gulf Coast chapter offers an extensive selection of special events which include the "Excellence in Construction" awards program, Apprenticeship Graduation and General Contractors Table Top. Throughout the year, there are golf tournaments, member appreciation nights and monthly dinner meetings in three area locations.
