DESPITE ECONOMIC SLOWDOWN, ABC CHAPTER BREAKS NEW MEMBERSHIP RECORD (07/15/2008)

Tampa, FL – In these challenging economic times, companies continually look for people, places and businesses with which they are familiar. Familiarity gives them a sense of security and trust. Associated Builders and Contractors Florida Gulf Coast Chapter is one of those constants in the construction industry, where contractors are able to work together to face these economic challenges. ABC has reached an all time high of 100 new member companies joining the association. "We are only 7 months into the year and we have already broken our new member record," stated, Steve Cona Jr, ABC Chapter President/CEO. "This is the first time in my 23 years with ABC that we have generated 100 new members, it goes to show you the great value ABC brings to our members."

Associated Builders and Contractors provides the best training, government and legal representation, and programs to ensure members a competitive advantage, add value to the industry's clients, promote a safe work place and enhance the lives of the industry's employees. The association is based on the principle of free enterprise to represent the interests of all merit shop (non-union) contractors, primarily in the commercial and industrial sectors of the construction industry. "ABC's objective is to provide its members with an organization that deals with issues on an industry-wide basis," expanded Cona. "Our government affairs efforts locally, statewide and on the federal level exceed all other construction associations." ABC is recognized as one of the leading organizations representing America's business community and the U.S. construction industry.
